Pigmentation Continuous exposure to the sun can cause pigmented disorders such as ephelides (freckles), solar lentigines, and rough and irregular skin texture. Vascular disorders such telangiectasias (dilated blood vessels) or diffused redness can also occur.
Poikiloderma of Civatte Chronic sun exposure, photosensitising chemicals in perfumes and cosmetics, hormonal changes and genetic predispositions can cause Poikiloderma of Civatte, a condition which appears as a combination of small blood vessels, irregular pigment and atrophic changes on the neck and the breast. It typically takes two-to-three sessions of IPL rejuvenation treatments to reverse the condition.
